Participation in the 2012 Work Forum on the Implementation of the UNCRPD 25-26.10.2012

In a Work Forum, organized by the European Commission in Brussels on 25 and 26 October 2012, on the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a delegation of four persons from the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, the Office of the Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman), and the Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled represented the National Mechanisms for the implementation and monitoring of the UN Convention in Cyprus. The Director of the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, on behalf of the Cyprus Presidency of the EU, opened the Forum. She also presented the adapting public administration to the paradigm shift, concerning the realization of the purposes of the UN Convention in Cyprus. The purpose of the Work Forum was the exchange of knowledge and good practices between the member states, regarding the effective implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
